Cancer Services, Inc.
Provides both community education programs and comprehensive support services to cancer patients and their families in Davie County. They assist with prescription cancer medications, equipment loans, wigs, ostomy supplies, nutritional supplies, mastectomy prostheses, patient support groups, and transportation to treatment. Community education provided for cancer prevention & survivor topics.
Dragonfly House, Child Advocacy Center
A Children’s Advocacy Center offering forensic interviews, medical exams, advocacy, mental health treatment, and other services to child victims of abuse. They work to reduce the devastating long-term effects that all forms of child abuse have on children, their families and society through immediate, coordinated, child focused services, education, and advocacy.
The Salvation Army
Provides direct financial assistance for past-due rent, utilities, food, medicine, and lodging. Priority is given to emergency situations.
Davie Center for Violence Prevention
Provides services and assistance to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Victims can find crisis counseling, emergency shelter assistance, assistance with filing Orders of Protection, and much more. Crisis line is available 24/7 at 336-751-HELP (4357).
4H, Cooperative Extension
Davie County 4-H is a community based youth development program involving over 1400 youth and adults through educational, hands-on programs. Programs teach life skills through community clubs, special interest programs, and school enrichment.
Buckle Up Davie, Davie County EMS
Provides free car seats to low-income families and car seat safety checks and education to all families who request it.
Davie County Senior Services, Meals on Wheels Program
Provides a nutritionally balanced meal to homebound seniors 5 days a week. To qualify, one must be 60 or older & unable to cook for him/herself. The person must also be homebound, meaning that it is very difficult for him/her to leave the home due to a physical or mental impairment.
